As part of my A2 Media coursework, in groups of 2/3 we have to create a music video based on an unsigned artist. To help with this coursework, we first had to begin by analysising music videos to help us understand the codes and conventions within music videos.
My group consists of me, Rahima and Gemma.
I chose to work with them as i have not worked with them in any other activities before and would like a new challange of working with others.

For several media lessons we went on unsigned.com to search for unsigned artists under the genre" rock" At first we came across an artist "straight Jack" whose song we really enjoyed, however, it was impossible to get her to send us the sound track so we had to search for other artists instead, which was quite challenging with little time. However, after failing to find a decent and workable artist under this genre we changed it to " indie/pop".

As a group we all found it difficult to find a artist that we would like to work on. Gemma helped come up with an artist called "porcelain and the Tramps" although this artist is already signed, she is unknown which we were still able to work with. This artist is classified as "alternative rock" which is different from what genre's we normally listen to. The song choice we chose was "redlight district" although, the title of the songs appears to be very explicit, as a group we decided that we could experiment and work around the lyrics.

We have come up with many ideas, based on music videos by Britney spears - Toxic, Radar, Slave for you and many more. These music videos had many scenes where the females are represented as to be "sexual".
